
ROWAN CATEL
A Bremerton, Washington native, Rowan began her dance training at the age of five with Liberty Bay Danceworks in Poulsbo, Washington. While there, she trained in many styles of dance, including contemporary and ballet, was invited to join their pre-professional ballet company, Dance Ensemble Northwest, and competitive dance team. Additionally, she has trained with Cornish College of the Arts, DASSdance, and Northwest School of Dance. Rowan has attended summer intensives with Milwaukee Ballet, Summer Dance Lab, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, Colorado Ballet, and Burklyn Ballet Theatre. Her repertoire includes works by Oberlin Dance Collective, Trey McIntyre, and several classical ballets. Rowan completed Olympic Ballet Theatre’s Trainee Program in 2018 and is now a member of the company.

FAVORITE ROLE PERFORMED WITH OBT?
There’s been many, I always love anything I get to dance in our Debuts programs. But, Spanish and Snow Lead in The Nutcracker will also always have a special place in my heart.
DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY OFF
I honestly just love going out for walks and exploring the city, but any day I get to catch up with my family or friends are very dear as well.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE PLACES TO VISIT IN EDMONDS?
Cafe Lourve has a special place in my heart, but I also love visiting Camp Vintage and the beach!

I am a professional pointe shoe fitter at On Pointe Dancewear!

WHAT KEEPS YOU MOTIVATED?
I really believe in what were trying to do as a company; bringing our community together, building memories, inspiring the next generations. That coupled with my amazing company members who help to challenge and inspire me on a daily basis.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT THIS UPCOMING SEASON?
I’m excited to be revisiting Coppélia, which is one of the first ballets I performed with OBT.
