SOPHIE POWELL

Born in Woodinville, WA, Sophie grew up training with former PNB principal Deborah Hadley. From there, Sophie trained at Houston Ballet Academy in the Professional Division and had the joy of performing in works including The Ladies, Graduation Ball, Cline Time, Long and Winding Road, Raymonda, Ben Stevenson’s The Nutcracker, Stanton Welch’s The Nutcracker and more. They then moved to Pittsburgh to train at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, performing with the company in productions of Beauty and the Beast, Giselle, and Terrance Orr’s The Nutcracker. Sophie then joined Texture Contemporary Ballet as a resident dancer from 2021-2023. With Texture Contemporary Ballet Sophie soaked in their love of performing and exploring new works created by wonderful artists such as Alan Obuzor, Kelsey Bartman, Madeline Kendall, Chris Bandy and others. Upon moving back to Washington, they joined OBT for the 2023-24 season.
