Borys Iastrub was born in Krivoy Rog, Ukraine. At the age of 10, he was accepted into the Kyiv State Ballet School. Upon graduating, he accepted a position with the National Opera of Ukraine, where he danced for 17 years. During his career, he participated in international festivals and toured around the world dancing a wide range of repertoire including Swan LakeLa Bayadère, and Giselle. He then became a ballet master at the Grand Kyiv Ballet, where he staged and rehearsed many classical ballets. In 2020, Borys earned a degree as a ballet master and choreographer from the National Academy of Creative Arts and Culture in Kyiv. In 2021, Borys moved to the United States to continue his creative and pedagogical journey. He is also joining the faculty at OBS.
